ILotus

ILotus is a Halal restaurant offering chinese cuisine. Beside just focusing on chinese cuisine. They are also famous for their buffet during puasa months, the seafood steamboat and many more events to be mentioned. So please do check regularly for great value deals.

Crispy Noodle Chicken Ball

Pineapple Fried Rice

Chicken

Deep Fried Fish

Buttermilk Prawn

Well the dish of that night is not that pleasing. The food is dry and cold, some of them is over seasoned and some is poorly prepared. The only dish that worth having is the Crispy Noodle Chicken Ball. The chicken is too dry that you need a cup of water to push the chicken down.

We have our lunch and dinner there most of the times. And the food turn out great and especially during the Puasa month the buffet is fantastic. We are pretty much disappointed on the dish that night. It clearly shows that the chef is not do his party in preparing the dish.

Thai Food for Lunch

Sawaddee House is a Halal restaurant offering Thai Foods. There are currently two branch of Sawaddee that I know of. One is at Jerudong and the other is at Yong Siong Hai Building at Gadong.

Menu

Barley

White Tom Yam

For those who love soury and spicy soup should give this a try.

I have no idea what this is. It is suppose to be a papaya salad of some sort.
Haha

Pandan Chicken

The chicken is covered with the pandan leaf. When grilled the pandan releases its aroma onto the chicken inside giving it an extra taste of sweetness.

Overall the service is great. The staff is helpful in providing the right information and suggesting dishes to order. The food is great.

High-Tea

Funbread is located at Gadong on the same block where Trillium and Kathy is. It is hard to miss :) Funbread offers great varieties of Western and Asian cuisine.

Menu
The menu is well organized separating the Western and Asian cuisine. Giving us (The Customer) the choice to choose Western or Asian. Providing us the ease of viewing and choosing :)

Asian Corner

Western Corner

The presentation of the menu looks great!!

Zombie?!
I didn't get to try it
Out of ingredient :(

Yam Shake with Pearl

Blue Hawaiian Mist

French Toast

Big thick bread, Not that great though. I find the toast to thick and all the goodies cant penetrates into the core of the bread. Making it to lacks out little in taste as well. The bread is dry and the coating is not that sweet. It lacks honey/ maple syrup. Well the presentation is great.

Chicken Finger/Stick?

Sandwich with Chicken Ham

Aussie Burger!!!

Is Big Mac big enough for you? Not enough? Get this, this Aussie Burger cost $6.80 including fries and the size of this burger is two times bigger compared to a Big Mac. The size of the bun is big and the texture of the burger is unbelievably soft and spongy. Cotton Candy you can pack your bag and move back to where you are from....

For the petty you can choose a choice of chicken or a burger. The portion of the petty is slightly smaller than the size of the bun but its still Bigger compared to Big Mac. It is a homemade petty, The texture of the petty is firm(As in the petty keeps its shaped and does not crumble into smaller pieces), juicy and perfectly grilled.

Lunch at Pizza Hut

Pizza Hut is well establish in Brunei. A place where Bruneian can get the best freshly baked Pizza. With delivery services added they close the gap of customer who cant drive and allow them order the Pizza through the phone.

We were there having our lunch the other day. We ordered the so called "Set" which cost roughly $7. Which is just fine for a person and no more. The set consist of a Small sized Pizza of your choice, a Cream of Mushroom Soup and a Coke.

The set meal I talked about earlier.

Tuna Pizza

Honey Garlic Pizza

The Pizza is small and further cut to 4 more pieces. It is just enough for an adult. You get to choose any topping to your liking. I go for the Tuna :)

Cream of Mushroom Soup

Dinner at Villa Mauri

General Informations:
Villa Mauri
Italian Restaurant & Asian Delight
Spg. 368, Jln. Muara
Kg. Sungai Tilong
For reservations, call: 233 5585.

Menu

I had my Value Dinner that night. Which I glad I did. It is a few dollar cheaper from ordering it at a time. The reason why it is called value dinner.

Complimentary Cheeze Stick.

With

Sauce

I have no idea what this sauce is, Tasted like peanuts and garlic.

Beef Carpaccio

Raw Beef with Parmesan cheese and covered with Balsamic dressing.
Love the taste of Cheeze with the raw beef.

Lagasane

Homemade Pasta layer with beef bolognaise sauce, parmesan and mozzarella sauce.
The sauce is great. The beef bits is nicely seasoned to bring out the taste of beef. The Lagasane layer is poorly prepared. The layer is hard and quite plain in tasting.

Beef Shank

The texture of the Beef Shank is tender and juicy. The meat came off the bone nicely. It shows that the meat is has been in the boiler for a long time. The taste however is quite disappointing. The taste is poor, badly seasoned and lack of salt.

The Grand Finale:
Desserts that is a must to have when dining at Villa Mauri.

Fantasia di Maria
(Also know as chocolate pudding or chocolate lava)

This is one of the best dessert offered by Villa Mauri. The chocolate lava is baked in a way that the middle part is left in the molten state.

Tiramisu

Another must have dessert of Villa Mauri. This Tiramisu is unlike any Tiramisu I had. This particular Tiramisu has a wet feeling to it. The texture is so soft that I cant really discribe it. But all I can say is that. You will regret not trying both this dessert out.
